Volunteering at the Medicine Farm serves as a learning experience culled only by the most cynical of types from the ranks of what would be considered as life-changing. If you have been searching for the chance to sincerely reconnect and revamp your spiritual centre … then the Medicine Farm is for you. The farm is a hub for eclectic and inspired individuals, and at the heart of it is Dougie, who will teach you not only how to teach yourself (as is pledged on this website’s homepage), but to concurrently learn what it truly means to be a part of something that is greater than yourself.

I stayed at the Medicine Farm as a volunteer from Fall-Spring season a few years ago, and learned many amazing things about how to plant and tend to the land, as well as the underlying and important messages behind this remarkable skill set. I made many great friends there, who were passionate and driven in their desire to find whatever it was they came to the farm to find, whether it be studying the land, exploring an interest in animals, to nurse a throbbing green thumb, or just to simply breathe. If you have a curiosity in some division of the natural world, the Medicine Farm allows you to pursue and tinker with those curiosities, and Dougie proves as an arsenal for knowledge and personal experience in the realm of herbalism. The farm is also a great place to go if you love playing or listening to music.

If you are afraid to get your hands dirty or aren’t used to rustic living, you may wish to reconsider applying as a volunteer. Come to the Medicine Farm with an open heart, and if you cannot, be sure to keep an open mind. (:

Absolutely Fantastic

I stayed 4 days in the seer. Absolutely fantastic place to disconnect and get back in touch with nature. If you’re down for some off the grid living, Ziga, Eden and Shaale were super kind, and excellent hosts. Will definitely be back!

My experience at The Medicine Farm was one that I will never forget and always be grateful for. These beautiful souls took me in when I had no where to go and fix my life. They gave and give me unconditional love and helped me when I was at my worse. Not only are you surrounded by beautiful trees and nature and special animals, also you are blessed by the energy and love of the people there. If you find your way to this special place with good intentions you are meant to be there...its a magical place. You will also learn life skills and gain strength and independence and find whatever it is you are searching for. Never snows there its always cleansing refreshing rain or sunshine lighting up the green trees that provide the freshest air, AND the mountain fresh water feels amazing on the body and soul. This truly is a special place with extremely special people that only have good intentions for each soul that finds them. ZigaZiga and Eden will be my family for life and I am forever grateful for all the love and every single thing they did for me. I highly recommend this place to anyone soul searching, needing nature, a break from the intense world or looking for a cool experience...this place can be for anybody as long as you set your intentions of what you are looking to gain out of the experience. Prayers to all that find themselves here.

Ziga and Eden were beyond kind and welcoming! The experiences of being in such a pure, clean, noiseless atmosphere was healing and refreshing beyond words. Like being in a totally different world of peace and silence and nature.
Thank you Ziga and Eden for all you did in helping to bring peace and healing through the farm and through your warm and caring his hospitality.

We had a fine time at the Medicine Farm. The young huge dog, Buddha, with his sister pup and mother greeted us as we drove in, with paws up on our open car windows, his big nose and dripping tongue at our chins. His big wild greeting quickly fell soft, tender, and loving, and it seemed he was glad to have us come to his world. Buddha's way was quite in characteristic of the Farm. The world there is way out in the woods; it's wild and rough, and you need to be wanting to fend for yourself. Yet, like their dogs, the Medicine Farm owners, Endendang & Zigaziga, greeted us with warm welcomes and a gentle invitation to search out and find the wild delights they host. Thanks, Matt
