I loved my stay at the Medicine Farm! The cabin was cozy and warm, there was plenty of firewood ready for me and the community on the farm was warm, inviting and even fed me! The listing is 100% accurate; if you're looking for a hotel, this may not be for you, especially if you can't live without electricity or aren't used to camping. But I am, and I loved it and I'll be back. The cabin allowed me to "camp" without having to deal with a tent, the rain and the cold. (From AirBNB)
If you are looking to unplug in nature, far off the beaten path away from highway noise and tourist chatter, if you love traditional camping or are interested in off-grid living, if spending time watching butterflies and listening to the gentle tapping of rain on a tin roof sounds restful and restorative, then the Medicine Farm is exactly the little piece of paradise you’re looking for. I fell in love with the cozy tiny cabin, its wood stove, and the two Great Pyrenees dogs roaming the property, keeping watch against wildlife. I felt completely safe, and left (reluctantly!) feeling rested, rejuvenated and grounded. Douglas is a kind, sincere and exceptionally cool person. I will definitely be back. (From AirBNB)
Douglas and others on the farm were accommodating and sincere. If you are looking for a soulful experience away from hustle and bustle book here! Douglas has a wealth of knowledge and is excited to share (food forest, cuisine, herbalism, off grid living). You will want to come back, or even stay! Thank you! ❤️ (From AirBNB)
Dougie was a fantastic host who really cared about making our stay memorable - we had everything we needed and more. The ‘see-er’ where we stayed was unforgettable, we could see tree tops for miles and a crazy sun set out of the bedroom window. There was also a fully equipped kitchen where we cooked a nice meal. The drive into Uculet village takes around 15 minutes. Gutted we couldn’t stay longer. Thanks again! (From AirBNB)
Douglas and Endenloung are amazing people and made my trip a great exprience. The place is special, off grid, with astonishing nature, tge farm is beautiful with a fine harmony of flowers, vegetables, fruits, plants, cats and a dog. Beach is nearby and nice forest in between. Great place for those seeking some time off the business and stress of the city and want to connect with the self and nature. (From AirBNB)
Douglas and everyone at the Medicine Farm made sure my experience was fantastic! They were welcoming and generous! If you’re comfortable with living off the grid style accommodations, this place is for you! (From AirBNB)
Amazing hosts! (From AirBNB)
Extremely peaceful and natural environment. Would have definitely booked the place earlier had I known how great the stay would be! (From AirBNB)
Great way to escape and get away from the world; beautiful night skies and peaceful isolation. But be prepared for tough living; many modern amenities are absent (no flush toilets or showers). That being said it’s definitely a bargain for the area. (From AirBNB)
We had a great stay at the Herbalist. The place is very remote, so you’ll be able to relax, disconnect and enjoy the wilderness. The view from the little loft is really beautiful and Douglas is very keen on making your experience as wholesome as possible. All the animals are really kind and we felt very safe. Be aware that the herbalist is very very raw (which makes the place so cool) and that it’s not the usual „luxury“, so encounters with insects should not be a problem for you. Bring some camping stuff (pots, pans etc.) and be prepared, that will make the stay more enjoyable. 🙂 (From AirBNB)
It has been beautiful at the Medicine farm. It was so out of my world. The silence, the simplicity, the food and the company of Douglas, Emily and Eden. It is a place to chill, reconnect and explore. Thank you 🙂 (From AirBNB)
Very friendly and accommodating host. Great location. Will definitely book here again if I’m heading to the Tofino-Ucluelet area. (From AirBNB)
Doug was such a great guy and made my stay at the medicine farm a really wonderful time. Completely surrounded by stunning natural views this cabin is the best place to relax and connect with nature, this was a great place to stay! (From AirBNB)
A great off the grid experience! (From AirBNB)
Zigaziga is the best host I‘ve ever had! You was so nice and friendly. He invited us over to his party, gave us best Tipps and even made us dinner! If you’re staying at the medicine farm know that you‘re up for an adventure! No running water, electricity or heating other than an oven. The cabins are very basic but that what makes them so special. If you’re up to live without your everyday „luxury“ you get rewarded with a wonderful and quiet place in the middle of the Canadian mountains. We felt so welcome and it was overall an unique and one of the best experiences I ever made. (From AirBNB)
If you want to live an off grid experience, this is the right place! Doug is really welcoming, and helpful. The tiny house is perfect for those looking for quiet and peace. Don't forget to bring our own firewood and you will be confortable for the entire stay! We were able to hear wolves at night, watch the stars and have breakfast outside on the patio. We also grew fond of one of Doug's cat, as she came to sleep with us in the tiny house. The road to get to the farm is a little tricky, but I believe it is part of the experience... I totally recommend the Medicine Farm experience to my friends! (From AirBNB)
Amazing stay here! Wonderful hospitality and the food was great! Awesome animals and experience (From AirBNB)
Rustic cabin in the woods. Just what is described! Great place to be with yourself or intimate company and just disconnect for a while. (From AirBNB)
Such an awesome place in the middle of the forest. We had a perfect week off the grid and a lot of adventure. Make sure you have candles, some firewood and basic camping gear. If you are lucky you can even see a wolf, which is very rare. Douglas was an incredible friendly host - he will always help you. 🙂 (From AirBNB)
Live minimally, check the weather before you go and food/wood plan for some stay at home days if it’s raining! Prepare to take bathroom trips in all kinds out outdoor weather and love cats and dogs and you’re good to go! 🙂 (From AirBNB)
